When I was an athlete (basketball was my love and passion for over 15 years), our coaches always said, “You play the way you practice.”
Every practice, we were expected to give 100%. With each passing day, that limit of what 100% meant, kept moving higher, farther.
Although the games went for 40 minutes, we practiced for hours every day.
Pushed beyond limits. Out of our comfort zone. Buttons pressed. Mental toughness built. Endurance developed.
Now that I am a mindset coach and strategist, my approach is different and yet similar.
Knowing where my clients want to go, where they come from, how they respond, what is important to them, I do push them out of their zone of comfort.
We do build up that persistence, endurance.
I might push some buttons to set them free of triggers, upper limits, stories.
But what is equally important is that each of my clients feel heard. Cared about. Respected. Understood.
When we co-create the complete experience for their growth, expansion, more joy, fulfillment, clarity, confidence, meaning, money can’t not to show up for them.
It gives me chills each time when they come back after a while, and say “While I was on my own, I remembered what we did. How we did it. And I was able to do it.” And then they share their results.
You play the way you practice.
The way you do one thing, you do every thing.
