What keeps you grounded? What energizes you? What do you wish you could do more of? Is it a walk in the woods? Would a quick workout re-energize you? What about an art project with your kids? An impromptu picnic with

You and I both know that when we want something, like grow a business, we pour our heart and soul into it. Sweat, blood and tears.
The risky part of this dedication is that it leads to a burnout. Obviously.
Another thing we are risking is a disconnect from our core values! And that's what has been a wake-up call for me not that long ago.

The reason I started my own business after I lost a job the same week I found out I was pregnant, was so that I could be there for my family. Getting another job just didn't feel reasonable. Would a steady paycheck help? For sure. But there would be no family time, flexibility, nor freedom, the core values on which my business is built - and the exact outcomes I help my clients to achieve.
But, instead of all of that, I've found myself working, or at least pretending to work (you know, following all those online discussions, posting to social media non stop, reading relevant articles, mapping out the next move...) and thinking about the business ALL the time. It came to the point when my 3.5 year-old daughter would ask me to put the phone down.
Even worse, on days when things wouldn't go as planned, I found myself being very snappy and short-tempered. And that was completely unacceptable!

I know we all go though this, we all have things we are not proud of, things we regret. And that we all make better plans for the next day. You know, tomorrow...
So, let's not wait until tomorrow. What can you do today?
Take the time you need - if nothing else, the best ideas occur when we occupy our minds with things that have no relevance to what we think we need to come up with :-)
